The smiles and hugs are the reward of a
worthwhile investment.
I’ve always been a caring person but having children of my own and developing a passion for instilling love and hope in them has increased my sense of responsibility to help children everywhere to have faith and hope in positive things.
In 2001, I developed a skill in special effects makeup, which allowed me to enter a world of fantasy. I shared my talents with others to allow them freedom to be characters that mainly existed in their own imaginations. My focus was on monsters and Halloween. But soon my attention was directed to Christmas and the magic of hope and promise that was instilled in children during that season. Because of my association with the Masonic Fraternity and the opportunity to assume the persona of the most iconic symbol of faith and hope in our society. Santa Claus does exist. He lives in the hearts and minds of children around the world. I found a mission that I could embrace as a life goal. I am Santa.
Over the last few years, I have worked on creating and developing, who I was as Santa. From the look of my suit to the type of personality I had. I even have designed specialized tattoos that tell people that I am Santa all year round. I understand that Santa is typically a pure, non-inked figure, but having these tattoos have helped bring the toughest dads into the soft and caring family photo with Santa. They have even help with storytelling, as the kids love to help name the reindeer that are displayed on my arms, I can move to fun stories of their personality and traits.
Since identifying my talents as Santa, I have worked to share my gifts with others. Donating my talents with families at the Masonic lodge and enjoying the special times appearing as Santa with the children and parents at the local Ronald McDonald House are especially memorable.
Over the years, I have grown in my appreciation of compassion and understanding of the needs of others. The smiles and hugs are the reward of a worthwhile investment. I have found that the rewards are far greater than the investment of my time.
